Overview

A delightful collection of bespoke shepherds huts at Westwell Downs in the heart of the Cotswolds offers the perfect adults-only get away.

Westwell Downs is about recharging, reconnecting and relaxing away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Whether you are in need of some downtime by yourself, a romantic getaway for two or a countryside retreat for six staying in all three huts, our bespoke and well-appointed Shepherd Huts offer everything you need.

The sleeping area boasts a king size bed made up with luxury British bed linen and cosy woollen throws, is separated from the living area with a half partition. Two patchwork wingback chairs looking over the paddock provide the perfect place to relax after a day exploring while taking in the sunset. Cooking couldn’t be easier in the well-equipped kitchen area with a hob, combi oven and breakfast bar. The ensuite at the end of the hut has a flushing toilet, basin and walk in shower, so you can enjoy your stay in comfort.

The huts' clever interior design maximises the available space to give you everything you need without feeling cramped. We don't want there to be any compromise and as there is not enough floor space to add an extra bed, even a cot for an infant, we want to highlight that Westwell Downs' huts are design for maximum 2 guests each, adults only, 18 years and over.

Our huts are kept warm all year round with a Hobbit woodburning stove and under floor heating making them the perfect bolt hole whatever the season.

Although we welcome guests who want to escape the real world for a few days, we also understand that keeping in touch with the outside world or getting on with a bit of work is important. Each hut has a TV and WiFi for those who want to enjoy a workcation in the glorious countryside.

Outside your hut is a decked area to enjoy al fresco dining with a parasol to provide cover or shade and its own fire pit and wood fired hot tub for the perfect holiday vibes.

We always want to go the extra mile to ensure your visit is as comfortable as possible, so we provide towels, robes, slippers and a hairdryer along with a welcome box on arrival. A variety of breakfast packs and hampers are available to order at time of booking and will be delivered to your hut.

Optional Extras

Let us look after you while you're here

If you don't fancy cooking, want to push the boat out or to celebrate a special occasion, we can recommend local catering services who will deliver. Get in touch to discuss this with us before your stay.

Our farm is situated in a gloriously sheltered spot near Burford. We observe traditional farming activities, and manage much of the land for keeping livestock, including sheep and horses at livery. Working in harmony with nature and the seasons, we are rewarded with abundant birds and wildlife and provide the perfect environment for bees to thrive on wildflower meadows. You can enjoy honey from the hives here on the farm during your stay. From the steps of your shepherd hut you can explore for miles down winding lanes flanked by Cotswolds stone walls. A network of footpaths lead to some of the most stunning valleys. Hire a bicycle from us and pedal away for a picnic while you drink in far reaching views. You don't have to go far to feel like you're a world away from the hubbub. If that all sounds just too energetic, we can recommend historic houses to visit, gin distilleries to tour and taste and some amazing food places to try. We are really looking forward to welcoming you to Westwell Downs.
