As a nod to this historic town, ‘The Burford’ is decorated in a more traditional style with wool and tweed at the forefront. The town of Burford is a small medieval market town on the River Windrush, about 3 miles from our huts. Often referred to as the gateway to the Cotswolds, its famous High Street sweeps downhill towards the bridge over the river, flanked by an unbroken line of ancient houses and shops. Burford’s wealth was based on sheep, particularly the Cotswold ‘Lion’, known for its long heavy fleece that gave some of the best wool in Europe. Little has changed over the years, its beauty and history combined with a range of shops, eateries and places of interest, make it very popular with visitors.
Our three huts are beautifully presented and the Burford is no exception. Within you will find a luxurious interior that has been cleverly designed to give you all the luxuries and comforts you need for a fabulous stay. The small kitchen area is perfectly formed to cook up a feast. There are comfortable armchairs to rest in, underfloor heating keeps the hut warm and there is a small log burner for chillier days. Off the main room is an ensuite shower room. Outside on the decking you have your own wood fired hut tub.
We have a strict no dogs policy for guests staying in the Burford. Sadly we won't make any exceptions and you will be asked to leave if you try to sneak one in! We do however allow one well-behaved dog to stay with you in the Barrington.
You can pre-order from a selection of hampers when you place your reservation. We will also have a selection of local produce to buy during your stay, much of it from the farm, including honey, eggs, freezer meals and homemade cakes. Celebration hampers are available on request. Additional wood bundles at £10 each are also available to fuel stoves and hot tubs.
